Debbie Anderson

Best part of your job: Giving a candidate news that they have an offer of the new job they really want. You often wish you could go and celebrate with them!

Worst part of your job: Not having enough time in the day to do everything that I want to do, there’s always someone else to call or somewhere else to search for new candidates.

Favourite day out: Being on holiday with the full day stretching out in front of you – holidays with sunshine make this even better!  We didn’t see much of that in Devon this year but still had some great days out such as crabbing in Dittisham, taking Alfie on his first pony ride and eating fish and chips on the harbour in Salcombe (food again).

Favourite outfit and why: I can't seem to stop buying shoes!

Favourite room in your house and why: I’m going to have to say the new open plan living, kitchen and dining room in our new house that we are renovating – its a long way off being ready but its already my favourite room, I can’t wait to enjoy it with friends and family.

What did you want to be when you grew up: Don’t know if this is weird or sad but I thought it would be great to be a science presenter on TV, like Tomorrows World or something – showing my age now.  I could also say a pop star but my dreams were shattered early on when I didn’t even get into the primary school choir!

Biggest Influence: Oh I have no idea, it would be a really long list, I’m far too easily influenced....

What’s on your bedside table: Lamp, alarm clock, book and some lavender essential oil that’s meant to help you sleep – although as my husband points out it wasn’t essential until I was talked into buying it!!!

Favourite Film: I am rubbish on films, and have only been to the cinema once since we’ve had Alfie. So I’ll have to go back a long way, even to the 80’s and say Ferris Buellers Day off.  Bueller.... Bueller....

Biggest ambition: I don’t want to be cheesy but myself and my family being happy and healthy are most important to me.  Although its not all hearts and flowers, I want to continue to grow Carrot as a company to be more and more successful with good motivated team.

Favourite book: Time Travellers Wife

Favourite place you’ve ever visited and why: South Africa – loved Stellenbosch for the vineyards and wine tasting (lots of!), and we went on an amazing safari that was a great experience.

If you could have a super power, what would it be: Ability to create more hours in the day!

What is your favourite food: Seafood... scallops, mussels, king prawns - mmmmm!

If you were trapped on a desert island, what 3 things would you want with you: Martin, Alfie and Ava - it could be a lovely family holiday!

You can invite 3 people, dead or alive, to dinner. Who do you pick: My best friends... and maybe Gary Barlow!

Other than working, what do you spend most of your time doing: With Alfie and Ava, at home or out and about. Usually at the gym or swimming, coffee shops, Tumble Tots, parks and of an evening drinking wine and eating!
