Inovio Pharmaceauticals Cervical Dysplasia and Cancer Treatment Highlighted as One of 10 Promising Therapeutic vaccines
A recent article from PR Newswire for United Business Media told of plans to take a new vaccine into Phase II for human testing. Inovio have been advancing in synthetic vaccines to fight against cancers and infectious diseases and announced today that VGX-3100, which is an investigative way of treating cervical dysplasia and cancer caused by human papillomavirus, was identified by Fierce Vaccines as one of ‘ten most promising therapeutic vaccines’.
Inovio is currently enrolling patients to take part in phase II of the testing in clinical studies around the US and sites in Canada, Korea, South Africa and Australia. Patients with CIN 2/3 or CIN 3 cervical dysplasias are taking part in multiple centres in these locations.
The drug is thought to be generating a lot of interest, in part because the anticipated gentleness of the treatment is in such stark contrast to existing chemotherapies.
