Liz Sutch

Best part of your job: Telling candidates that they have job offers, and similarly telling clients that an offer has been accepted. This is the most rewarding part of my role, when you feel like you’ve assisted in helping somebody change something quite major in their life – their job.

Worst part of your job: Not being able to find strong candidates for the roles I’m recruiting for can be a real frustration; I know there are people out there and just have to find them!

Favourite day out: I love charity shopping! My favourite kind of Saturday begins with a lazy morning visiting a load of charity shops scouting for books, retro computer games, clothes and yarn for my new hobby of knitting. My boyfriend and I will then have a lovely relaxing lunch at an independent café, then do something like walk in Heaton Park, before cooking a nice home meal and heading out to the cinema in the evening.

Favourite outfit and why: My wardrobe’s full of knitwear and bright colours, and am a huge fan of Sonia Rykiel, who does lots of stripy knitwear, so a Sonia by Sonia Rykiel jumper, with dark jeans or a denim skirt. I have a huge stash of accessories, so I always like to find a nice coordinating hat or scarf too.

Favourite room in your house and why: The open plan living-dining-kitchen area in my flat is perfect. It’s really bright and airy overlooking a small fishing lake, and I’ve got lots of bright coloured furniture like a lime green sofa. It also means everybody can be together in the same room, even if we’re doing different things like cooking, watching TV or reading.

What did you want to be when you grew up: Be on the radio, or become an author. I wanted to present something on Radio 4!

Biggest Influence: My mum. She’s ace. She has a wicked sense of humour and is the nicest person you could ever meet.

What’s on your bedside table: A small jewellery box, a load of labels from new clothes, half drunk glass of water, a travel guide for Ibiza & Formentara where I’m going this summer, and the book ‘The Wayward Bus’ by John Steinbeck which I’ve almost finished. Oh, and ear plugs.

Favourite Film: Too hard! Top 5 in no order? Trainspotting, Beauty & the Beast, El Espinazo Del Diablo, Sliding Doors, & Avatar.

Biggest ambition: To walk the Inca Trail to Macchu Picchu.

Favourite book: Either Wuthering Heights or George Eliot’s Adam Bede.

Favourite place you’ve ever visited and why: Coniston in the Lake District. Every time I go there I can properly relax, go walking & canoeing, and eat fantastic food. The drive up past Newby Bridge and along the B5285 is fab too!

If you could have a super power, what would it be: The ability to learn instantly

What is your favourite food: pizza

If you were trapped on a desert island, what 3 things would you want with you: My kindle, my mp3 player and a large supply of Juan Valdez coffee

What's your most prized possession: Lot's a huggin' bear from Toy Story 3. He's evil and strawberry scented.

You can invite 3 people, dead or alive, to dinner. Who do you pick: Freddie Mercury, Lady Gaga, Johnny Depp

Other than working, what do you spend most of your time doing: Get home for about 7pm – the first thing I do is watch Neighbours on Fiver. Everybody makes fun of me for this as it’s a bad habit I picked up at uni and haven’t been able to drop. Cook tea with my boyfriend, maybe at 9ish I’ll go to the gym if I haven’t been during the day at work, or settle down to read a book, watch a film/ play a console game on the Wii/ X-box.
