The Role

Associate Manager Publications - Pharmaceutical Real World Evidence Agency - London - Up to £33k DoE

This is a brand-new role, within an industry leading healthcare communications and real-world evidence agency. This agency publishes their own deliverables from real-world evidence findings. These are a mix of publications, abstracts and posters.

This role will involve editing and reviewing the standard of the work produced by medical writers, to ensure quality is maintained. It will also involve coordinating the submission and publication development process of the manuscripts. For this role our client is hoping for applicants with a life science PhD and an extensive knowledge of manuscripts and publications.

The company is a vibrant, innovative Cheshire based agency, who publish their own findings from Real World Evidence studies. This Real-World evidence is needed to help evaluate the safety and efficacy of pharmaceuticals. The Real-World Evidence generated from this agencies research is used to inform clinical development decisions, strategic marketing and assist in demonstrating product value for clients from the pharmaceutical industry.

The Role

This brand-new role has been created internally to centralise the organisation and management of this agencies Real World Evidence deliverables in order to achieve consistency and quality across all their outputs. This Associate Publications Manager role will involve the following key responsibilities:

  • Editing work produces by the team of freelance medical writers.
  • Checking consistency in quality. Including critically reviewing the standard of manuscripts provided by medical writers and providing feedback.
  • Development and submission of abstracts.
  • Coordinating author feedback, response to reviewers' comments and resubmission process in a standard format.
  • Ensures the publication development process and all materials produced are complainant with current relevant guidelines.



To apply for this role as an Associate Publications Manager, our client was hoping for candidates with the following skills and experiences:

  • Ideally, educated to PhD level in the life sciences.
  • 2 years medical writing experience, either within medical communications, journal publications, or medical writing experience from academia.
  • Candidates must have extensive knowledge of publications and manuscripts.
  • Due to the editing and quality checking involvement, a good eye for detail is essential
  • Applicants must be strong communicators, confident sharing ideas and providing feedback.

I love films, so there's far too many to choose from! If I had to pick one it would probably be the Harry Potter series. 

If you could invent one thing what would it be?

I'd invent a machine that made me a coffee as soon as I woke up - that would make getting out of bed much easier!
