How do you keep up-to-date with the issues in your sector?

Through constant communication with candidates and clients within the industry. I like to meet with my clients and candidates as often as possible and to get out to as many networking events as I can. I also like to keep track of what is happening in the industry via LinkedIn, PMLive and other pharma news sites. 

What's your favourite film and why?

Gladiator - it's a timeless film with a great cast and fantastic story. They don't make them like that anymore.

If you could invent one thing what would it be?

I'd love to have a teleport. I love to travel but some places are so far away! I'd love to press a button and be able to spend the weekend on the beach in Fiji.

I can read and write in Korean! After teaching English over there I have learnt to really understand people and have seen how rewarding it is to help people whatever their circumstances. In my job I really listen to both my clients and candidates needs and try to match them as best as possible.

The Role

As Communications Manager, you will have the opportunity to think creatively, working across three key therapy area to develop communications strategy for the UK and Ireland functions.

  • Establish and execute internal and external communication projects

  • Working highly cross-functionally to lead internal communication strategy for the region

  • Plan and delivery external communication projects

  • Working closely with wider teams to gain an understanding of the global priorities



The ideal candidate will be a solid medical writer from pharma or agency keen to manage the scientific publication plans of products in development and marketed globally.

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience within a similar role either in-house or agency environment

  • Experience within oncology, neurosciences or rare diseases highly advantageous

  • A strategic thinker who is proactive and thinks ahead with strong influencing and organisation skills

  • Ability to work cross functionally with key stakeholders at different levels and locations

  • Strong project management experience in coordinating the production and delivery of multiple projects

  • Educated to degree in life sciences as a minimum
