The Role

Scientific Director Statistical Sciences - Buckinghamshire - Global Pharma - upto £110k plus excellent benefits in addition

 

The Company

You will be joining a global pharmaceutical company whereby opportunities cross functionally and within your own function are endless. The Role

You will contribute to the strategic statistical direction of the company through expert level guidance and input to pre/early/late development, research and discovery, Medical Affairs, RWE.

  • You will provide collaborative leadership to other drug development scientists through consultation and mentoring
  • Oversee the delivery of analysis, interpretation, design and reporting or communication of data evidence for research, development and marketed product needs
  • In partnership with other quantitative sciences functions, contribute to strategic long-term decision making by senior management
  • Participate in external activities to help shape the external drug research and development and regulatory environments

 

You

  • Previous line management ideal
  • PhD or MSc in statistics ideal
  • Proficient in SAS or R programming
  • Good knowledge of Bayesian methods and inference
  • Sound knowledge and experience of biostatistics applied to clinical trial and model based drug development
  • Will be working in a senior leadership post currently

My focus is Senior Clinical Operations and Senior Medical Affairs

How do you keep up-to-date with the issues in your sector?

I try to keep up to speed with industry news sites and blogs but really the majority of helpful and interesting information comes through the conversations I have with my candidates and clients. 

What's your favourite film and why?

I wasn't sure whether to admit this as it's really not very "cool" but...Four Weddings and Funeral is my absolute favourite, always makes me smile!!

If you could invent one thing what would it be?

The ability to disapparate like Harry Potter from one place to another with the click of a finger. It would make seeing friends and family (and candidates and clients) who live all over the country so much easier, particularly now I have two little people to transport too!

What makes you #DistinctlyDifferent?

On a professional level - 12 years within recruitment specifically working within the pharmaceutical industry gives me the knowledge and overarching understanding of Clinical Research to really understand my clients and candidates' needs, regardless of functional area they sit within.

On a personal level - I have done a skydive in NZ, ridden an elephant in Laos, Scuba Dived in Vietnam, swam with sharks in Thailand (small ones!) and sailed a tall ship around the Caribbean (by sailed I mean I sat drinking cocktails while the crew sailed it).
