Medical Communications and Medical Education 

How do you keep up-to-date with the issues in your sector?
Communicating with candidates on a regular basis, over the phone, email and through LinkedIn. Also meeting candidates over a coffee is a great way to learn more. I try to get to as many networking events as possible; meeting with clients on a regular basis to find out what they're doing really helps too. 

What's your favourite film and why?
My favourite film would have to be...'Once Upon a Time in the West'. A classic Western film that offers everything.

If you could invent one thing what would it be?
I'd invent a time-machine, or maybe something easier to use like 'Bernard's Watch'. It would be ideal to be able to stop time every now and again to catch up on some sleep or spend some extra time finding that perfect candidate!

What makes you #DistinctlyDifferent? 
I'd like to think that I really get to understand what people are looking for in their next role and deliver to that. This, coupled with keeping regular contact with clients to see what their situation is, allows me to match the right candidate to the right company, as each Medical Communications Agency offers something slightly different. This may sound like ordinary recruitment to some, but you have to act differently and go the extra mile in this sector to make it work for everybody involved!

The Role

Senior/Account Manager, Medical Communications/Med Affairs Agency, South Manchester/Cheshire, Up to £40K Depending on experience

 

The Company

We're currently working on something a little different with one of our key clients at a new(ish!) location in the North West. They're an agency that have consistently delivered superb Medical Communications programs and have increased their offering to Med Affairs.

If you're established in Medical Communications and would like a new challenge this would be ideal! A few years back we were working with the company when they had space for 60 people but only had 5 staff. Things have changed significantly, and they now have 40 people working from this office. We've placed many a happy candidate with them and received superb feedback.

The Role

  • Working across various deliverables including ad boards, presentations, and strategic guidance

  • Support the wider team

  • Financial responsibility across several areas including; invoicing, proposals, budget tracking etc...

  • Taking a client brief and providing thoughts/feedback - ensuring brief is delivered to

  • Work with senior team to drive account strategy

 

You

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Self-motivated team player

  • Proven projects and account-management skills

  • Strong financial acumen

  • Comfortable mentoring junior team members where required
