My client is a decision support consultancy, specialising in biopharmaceuticals. They use a variety of consulting tools to help their clients make better commercial and clinical decisions. Providing expert led and evidence-based decision support, they assist in enhancing the value of their client's products.

As a multinational business with offices in 3 continents, their work is truly global covering a variety of established and emerging markets. Alongside supporting products in Oncology, my client is also heavily involved in biosimilars, generics, vaccines and rare diseases.

The Role

Therapeutic understanding is a core attribute of my client's value proposition. This role can be broken down as follows:

  • Subject Matter Expertise - Provide therapeutic expertise to internal teams in an advisory capacity. Help guide the direction of research.

  • Thought Leadership - Develop impactful thought leadership pieces and publish peer-reviewed articles. Attend conferences and meetings to keep abreast of any medical developments and advances

  • Team Mentorship - Work with internal teams to expedite their development. Provide consistent mentoring and feedback.

  • Business Development Support - Identify opportunities and act as a subject matter advisor to help win business.

In order to be successful in this role you will have the following expertise:

  • Most crucially, you will demonstrate an expert level of knowledge of Oncology. A strong understanding of Haematology and/or Immunology would also be a bonus

  • You will have experience in consulting, ideally having helped develop or launch pharma products (either in house or in an advisory capacity)

  • You will have a strong knowledge of regulatory and reimbursement environments

  • You will have a communication style that is malleable - both to help influence client engagements but also to help train and shape the work of more junior members of staff

Matt Goldrick

Which team do you work in?
I work in the Market Research and Business Intelligence team.

Which area do you specialise in?

I specialise in senior market research roles, working with a variety of PMR agencies and consultancies. I also work with our pharma company clients, covering market insight/business intelligence positions.

How do you keep up-to-date with the issues in your sector?

With a well established network of clients and candidates, keeping up to date with industry news is usually quite straightforward! Alongside speaking to those directly involved in the industry, I spend time browsing relevant industry websites and reading articles on LinkedIn

What's your favourite film and why?
I would probably say either the Batman Dark Knight trilogy or the Bourne Films. I think Christopher Nolan's a great director and I really like the premise of the Bourne films - I love a good conspiracy theory!

If you could invent one thing what would it be?
Maybe Bernard's Watch...?

What makes you #DistinctlyDifferent?
This is a tough one! I'm going to go for a couple of clichéd statements - my never-say-die attitude and the fact I'm the most organised recruitment consultant you'll meet. I've a folder for everything!
