Speaking to candidates and clients on a daily basis allows me to keep up-to-date with changes and news in my industry. I also find LinkedIn groups and professional journals are invaluable for keeping on top of industry topics. 

What's your favourite film and why?

Tim Burton's Big Fish has to be my go-to film of choice. An over the top, fantastical and emotional story of epic proportions full of weird and quirky touches...escapism at it's finest!

If you could invent one thing what would it be?

If I could invent one thing it would be to make the Replicator from Star Trek a reality - I love food but hate cooking after a busy day in the office so this would be ideal!

Having studied art I like to think I look at things with a creative twist and have the ability to look beyond the obvious. This is helpful when it comes to guiding and advising candidates and clients to overcome potential problems and arrive at the best conclusion for all.

The Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in clinical research to become a Study Start-Up Manager working for a major client. Based in gorgeous vibrant offices in Madrid as part of a hardworking and driven team.

  • Responsible for the set-up and planning for local operational clinical study activities

  • Overseeing the preparation and planning of clinical trial submissions and approvals following appropriate protocols and legislation

  • Responsible for ensuring strict timelines and targets are met

  • Evaluating overall compliance and effectiveness throughout trial, highlighting issues and solutions



To be suitable for this Study Start-Up Manager opportunity you should have demonstrable experience within this area or a similar role within clinical research.

  • Advanced organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects

  • Ability to prioritise multiple tasks across conflicting deadlines

  • Flexible attitude to learning and taking on new tasks

  • Advanced ability to solve problems using a systematic, logical and sequential approach

Office-based in Madrid, Spain - must be based locally or willing to relocate. (Must be fluent in Spanish and English.)
