External Communications Manager - Global Pharmaceutical Company - South-East England - c£65K + Car Allowance & Bonus

The Role

This Product Communications Manager role will utilise your extensive communications skills to develop and lead the communications and brand strategies across a variety of therapy areas including Oncology/Cardiovascular/Immunology/Neuroscience products with a focus on media relations, brand and disease awareness campaigns:

  • Create and managing brand plans for a range of products and therapy areas
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders and agencies to manage campaigns
  • Carry out a wide range of PR activities utilising social media, print and digital channels to engage with the media and medical industry professionals
  • Working flexibly on internal and external communications projects as required
  • Supporting the global brand teams with ad hoc duties as required
  • Assisting with and providing crisis management if required



To be successful for this External Communications Manager position you should have a solid foundation of public relations / communications experience gained in the pharma industry from either a PR agency or pharmaceutical organisation. You will also have:

  • External and internal communications experience with a focus on media relations
  • Experience liaising and collaborating with internal teams and PR agencies
  • Excellent communications planning, stakeholder management and writing skills
  • Solid level of life science / pharma experience
  • Internal / Employee Communications or PR experience
  • Awareness and understanding of ABPI and EFPIA codes
