Medical Communications and Medical Education 

How do you keep up-to-date with the issues in your sector?
Communicating with candidates on a regular basis, over the phone, email and through LinkedIn. Also meeting candidates over a coffee is a great way to learn more. I try to get to as many networking events as possible; meeting with clients on a regular basis to find out what they're doing really helps too. 

What's your favourite film and why?
My favourite film would have to be...'Once Upon a Time in the West'. A classic Western film that offers everything.

If you could invent one thing what would it be?
I'd invent a time-machine, or maybe something easier to use like 'Bernard's Watch'. It would be ideal to be able to stop time every now and again to catch up on some sleep or spend some extra time finding that perfect candidate!

What makes you #DistinctlyDifferent? 
I'd like to think that I really get to understand what people are looking for in their next role and deliver to that. This, coupled with keeping regular contact with clients to see what their situation is, allows me to match the right candidate to the right company, as each Medical Communications Agency offers something slightly different. This may sound like ordinary recruitment to some, but you have to act differently and go the extra mile in this sector to make it work for everybody involved!

The Role

Editorial Team Lead - Creative Healthcare Communications - Manchester - Up to £65K Depending on experience

 

The Company

Something a little bit different on offer with this agency. They work almost exclusively in creative healthcare, with a strong team that work closely with several the top 20 pharma companies. As a business, they work with a large variety of brands from Adidas to Shell and from BAE Systems to Google. Within Healthcare they're responsible for HCP engagement, congress activity, content creation and global product launch.

They're now looking for a Editorial Team Lead to join the business to drive the scientific team across a range of congress activity. Offices in Central Manchester and Central London (as well as US/Europe). This role will ideally be based in Manchester.

  • Strong healthcare team that has grown significantly over the last 18 months

  • As a business they work across Energy, Technology, Luxury, Retail, FMCG

  • Over 150 staff across the globe

 

The Role

  • Provide oversight and management of scientific services across the healthcare accounts

  • Overall responsibility for all scientific/medical content generated within the team

  • Identify and provide training to other team members

  • Work closely with client services lead to develop account planning and financial forecasting

  • Establish excellent relationships with key stakeholders, cross-functional team members and line reports

 

You

  • Previous medical writing experience ideally within an agency setting

  • Line management experience

  • Strong project management and organisational skills

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Team player
