The Role

Client Services Director – Lead and grow the Manchester based Medical Communications team of 7+ people and manage the running of a £1m Rare Diseases account. An opportunity to be part of a fully integrated global group, working with clients from early phase discovery through to product commercialisation.

The Medical Communications team sit within a broader Communications team including Advertising, PR, Creative and Digital colleagues. The Communications team are part of a wider business working with biopharmaceutical clients, often from initial lab discovery through to product commercialisation.

  • Unique business model combining global CRO and global CCO
  • Offer end-to-end fully integrated solutions for their biopharmaceutical clients
  • UK, European and global accounts
  • Close knit Communications team based in impressive modern serviced offices in central Manchester, working on Rare Diseases and Fertility accounts
  • Produce multichannel and multinational campaigns with deliverables spanning strategic planning, publication planning, medical education and content creation for material such as technical documents, dossiers, slides, animations, websites and apps - accessible, coherent copy for any channel that a HCP can access.


The Role

Client Services director to lead and grow the Manchester based Medical Communications team and manage the running of a c£1m portfolio of work across Rare Diseases and Fertility.

  • Currently a team of 7 direct reports, both medical writers and client services, with several new people due to start in Summer 2020.
  • The Manchester team tend to run their own accounts, including the large c£1m Rare Diseases account although there is some cross over work with the London team.
  • Ideally this Client Services Director will be office based in central Manchester for some of the week to offer visible senior level support.
  • Accountability for meeting the business objectives of the client, both strategically and financially.



An experienced Client Services Director with substantial medical communications agency experience, who enjoys leading and progressing a team, developing and guiding client strategy and delivering innovative and effective communication solutions.
