How do you keep up-to-date with the issues in your sector?

Through constant communication with candidates and clients within the industry. I like to meet with my clients and candidates as often as possible and to get out to as many networking events as I can. I also like to keep track of what is happening in the industry via LinkedIn, PMLive and other pharma news sites. 

What's your favourite film and why?

Gladiator - it's a timeless film with a great cast and fantastic story. They don't make them like that anymore.

If you could invent one thing what would it be?

I'd love to have a teleport. I love to travel but some places are so far away! I'd love to press a button and be able to spend the weekend on the beach in Fiji.

What makes you #DistinctlyDifferent?

I can read and write in Korean! After teaching English over there I have learnt to really understand people and have seen how rewarding it is to help people whatever their circumstances. In my job I really listen to both my clients and candidates needs and try to match them as best as possible.

Associate Director - Global Pharma Company - London - £70k - £90k


The Company

My client is a global biotechnology company that specialises in creating transformative medicines for people with rare, life-threatening diseases. Through investing in scientific innovation, this global pharmaceutical company has a solid reputation in the industry and has been responsible for the discovery and development of a number of medicines to treat the causes of a range of rare diseases.

The Role

Reporting to the Director of Communications, as an Associate Director you will be responsible for delivering strategic communications programs across the UK and Ire. You will work closely with the cross-functional teams as well as with the International Corporate Affairs team across a range of products in the current portfolio and pipeline.

  • Design and implement strategic communications strategies for the UK and Ireland. Development of key messages, media materials, press releases, presentations etc.
  • Represent the Communications team internally and externally with a variety of different stakeholders.
  • Handle media requests and coordinate interviews with the company's spokespeople and opinion leaders.
  • Provide on going support of the implementation of PR and advocacy activities.



A strategic thinker experienced in developing global communication plans on a range of different therapeutic areas. This would be a great role for someone with extensive healthcare PR experience in both an agency and client-side setting.

  • Must have life science / pharma experience
  • Extensive Corporate Communications or PR experience
  • Be able to demonstrate experience of crisis and issues management and planning.
  • Strong network of external media relations
  • Good understanding of ABPI
