How do you keep up-to-date with the issues in your sector?

By being in regular contact with candidates and clients within my sector and attending networking events is invaluable in staying up-to-date. Also PMLive, BBC Health and LinkedIn are key tools. Because of my background studying science I have a keen interest in staying informed and up-to-date with any advancements in the sector.

What's your favourite film and why?

Pulp Fiction! It's Tarantino at his best. Great cast, great soundtrack and a great storyline which keeps you on your toes with its intertwining arcs. It's rightfully a cult classic.

If you could invent one thing what would it be?

A teleportation device. In would enable me to visit incredible locations around the world without having to deal with the hassle of long haul flights. So many amazing places to visit, so little time!

The Role

It is an exciting time for this agency as recent pitch wins means that their team is expanding, which is the reason why they are in need of an established Account Director to join their ranks. Likely duties may include:

  • Supporting the Managing Director in the development of creative briefs and ensuring that reasonable client expectations of deliverables and timeframes are set and then managed through the entire process.

  • Working alongside project managers to reconcile costs/time at the end of each month or project and prepare invoices accordingly to ensure that profitability is maintained on each project.

  • Understanding that the agency's staff are their greatest asset and therefore nurturing and supporting more junior members of the client services and project management teams in order to aid their professional development.

  • Not only having a leading role in developing business with existing clients, but also recognising new business opportunities and driving efforts to successfully convert these opportunities too.

 

You

As well as having a background working in healthcare advertising in an agency setting, having a real passion for healthcare communications and a drive to succeed is crucial. Also to be successful in this role:

  • You will have an ability to make intelligent and informed decisions on behalf of the business, whilst knowing when to escalate issues or decisions to the Managing Director.

  • You will have excellent written and verbal communications skills and be experienced and confident in presenting and conducting training sessions.

  • You will have Account Director experience from a multichannel Healthcare Communications agency, with good knowledge of digital campaigns, and an interest in digital.

  • You will be enthusiastic about the fact that as an Account Director at this agency you will have a real responsibility in helping them to meet their lofty ambitions and further cement their reputation as a trusted name in this industry.
