How do you keep up-to-date with the issues in your sector? 

By keeping lively on LinkedIn, reading articles and posts from thought leaders in the sector, as well as keeping on top of articles from BBC Health, PMLive and similar sites. That, and making sure I am talking to candidates and clients all the time and listening to what they say! The best teachers are those who live their industry on a daily basis. 

What's your favourite film and why?

I'd probably have to go with Shawshank, there's no feelgood ending quite like it and I think we all wish Morgan Freeman was around narrating our lives. Either that or the Truman Show, because that's just a great story. Tough to choose! 

If you could invent one thing what would it be?

I'd have to go with some kind of device that makes all my favourite junk foods good for you without affecting the taste! If it wasn't for the fear of losing my teeth I'd eat a terrifying amount of chocolate!

I'm a big history nerd and could talk for hours about a bunch of different subjects - be careful not to get me started!

Account Director - Award Winning Medical Communications Agency - London - £50k-£60k

 

The Company

A specialist communications agency are looking to expand their medical communications team due to winning a number of new accounts and the consistent development of existing healthcare, pharmaceutical and medical technology accounts. They have a great variety of accounts and due to ongoing success they're keen to bring on another Account Director to be based in their central London office.

The Role

This role will be perfect for a Senior Account Manager or Account Director who has medical communications experience but who enjoys the challenge of a more integrated approach that may include media relations, disease awareness, social media campaigns, advertising and plenty of digital - you really will be working in a creative environment.

  • You will be driven, organised and forward-thinking.

  • You will work across a range of UK and global accounts on multiple therapy areas.

  • Lead accounts that could range from ethical pharma to consumer health

  • Assist an Associate Director in the forecasting and phasing of budgets across your accounts

  • Lead by example to ensure client needs are met

You'll have experience of account handling gained within medical communications, with a real interest in working in a more creative, integrated and collaborative environment. This role will be perfect for a Senior Account Manager or Account Director who has medical communications experience but who enjoys the challenge of a more integrated approach. As they are an ambitious agency and you'll be playing a vital role in delivering their award-winning campaigns and developing the business further.
