How do you keep up-to-date with the issues in your sector?
Communicating with candidates on a regular basis, over the phone, email and through LinkedIn. Also meeting candidates over a coffee is a great way to learn more. I try to get to as many networking events as possible; meeting with clients on a regular basis to find out what they're doing really helps too. 

What's your favourite film and why?
My favourite film would have to be...'Once Upon a Time in the West'. A classic Western film that offers everything.

If you could invent one thing what would it be?
I'd invent a time-machine, or maybe something easier to use like 'Bernard's Watch'. It would be ideal to be able to stop time every now and again to catch up on some sleep or spend some extra time finding that perfect candidate!

I'd like to think that I really get to understand what people are looking for in their next role and deliver to that. This, coupled with keeping regular contact with clients to see what their situation is, allows me to match the right candidate to the right company, as each Medical Communications Agency offers something slightly different. This may sound like ordinary recruitment to some, but you have to act differently and go the extra mile in this sector to make it work for everybody involved!

The Role

Due to maternity the agency is looking to bring in an established Client Services Director to assist with several key accounts for circa 7 months.

  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the agency brand team.
  • Build solid client relationships and continually add value both strategically and tactically
  • Lead on most client accounts
  • Financial management - billings, forecast, negotiations
  • Assist with new business and organic growth



For this Senior Account Director / Client Services Director role, the right cultural fit is essential. You must be focused on working as a team and bringing out the best in others.

  • Experienced working as an Account Director in a Medical Education / Communications agency
  • Confident developing client and team relationships.
