What's your favourite film and why?
I don't really watch films. Does Corrie count??

If you could invent one thing what would it be?
A chocolate-making machine that would be a normal household object to be used daily, like a toaster.

A highly strategic Scientific Director role overseeing 3 agencies within this Global Healthcare Comms group in central London. You will join an outstanding, super impressive and award-winning team, sharing their passion for science and finding innovative effective ways of communicating scientific data to a wide variety of audiences.

The group consists of 5 healthcare communication agencies, with specialisms spanning Medical Education, Healthcare Advertising, PR, Marketing, Branding and Digital.

The Role

Scientific Director to develop and direct scientific strategy and messaging for designated accounts, provide scientific counsel and take the lead on key deliverables of strategic importance to the client.

  • Identify and develop client communication goals and strategic imperatives, founded in a thorough understanding of the clients' product, portfolio and the clinical and commercial environment in which they operate.

  • Leads high-profile and scientifically complex discussions around therapeutic areas and client communication requirements

  • Use insight and expertise to lead development of scientific strategy for existing accounts.

  • Ensure project deliverables meet programme objectives, contain appropriate medical and commercial messages and meet high editorial standards.

  • Provide strategic recommendations for communication disciplines outside of medical education and Communications, ie. PR and Advertising

  • Develop scientific strategy for more complex and challenging scenarios and above-brand opportunities.

  • A leadership role with responsibility for training, mentoring, managing and leading Medical Writers and Associate Scientific Directors. You will also be actively involved in Senior Management discussions.

 

You

A seasoned medical communication professional who has earnt their stripes as a medical writer and enjoys being involved in the leadership of the team and being a strategic partner to clients.

  • A solid career in medical communications, medical education or marketing communications.

  • Proven expertise in strategic planning and scientific platform development.

  • Adept at building strong client and external expert relationships.

  • Inspirational and credible team leader and line manager

  • Confident leading new business pitches.
