How do you keep up-to-date with the issues in your sector? 

By keeping lively on LinkedIn, reading articles and posts from thought leaders in the sector, as well as keeping on top of articles from BBC Health, PMLive and similar sites. That, and making sure I am talking to candidates and clients all the time and listening to what they say! The best teachers are those who live their industry on a daily basis. 

What's your favourite film and why?

I'd probably have to go with Shawshank, there's no feelgood ending quite like it and I think we all wish Morgan Freeman was around narrating our lives. Either that or the Truman Show, because that's just a great story. Tough to choose! 

If you could invent one thing what would it be?

I'd have to go with some kind of device that makes all my favourite junk foods good for you without affecting the taste! If it wasn't for the fear of losing my teeth I'd eat a terrifying amount of chocolate!

What makes you #DistinctlyDifferent?

I'm a big history nerd and could talk for hours about a bunch of different subjects - be careful not to get me started!

The Role

Senior Account Manager - Creative Medical Communications Agency - Central Manchester or Central London - Up to £50K Depending on experience - Medical Communications Jobs

 

The Company

This agency work almost exclusively in events, with a strong Healthcare team that work closely with several of the top 20 pharma companies. As a business, they work with a large variety of brands from Adidas to Shell and from BAE Systems to Google. Within Healthcare they're responsible for HCP engagement, congress activity, content creation and global product launch. They're now looking for a Senior Account Manager to join the growing team. 

  • Offices in Central Manchester and Central London (as well as US/Europe). This role can be based from either Manchester or London.

  • Very creative and innovative agency. Create spectacular events for their clients

  • Strong healthcare team that has grown significantly over the last 18 months

  • As a business they work across Energy, Technology, Luxury, Retail, FMCG

  • Over 150 staff across the globe

 

The Role

  • Working with the Client Engagement Director to establish and grow customer relationships within flagship account to retain and secure new commercial opportunities

  • Actively promote the full range of TCEG services within a consultancy-led approach

  • Develop and acquire new business by managing and maintaining client relationships

  • Responsibility for the successful delivery of projects from briefing to delivery

  • Monitor commercial value of projects including fees and time spent to maintain margin

  • Provide solutions orientated account management

 

You

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following key skills;

  • Strong commercial acumen

  • Excellent project management skills, ideally developed within a healthcare setting

  • Proven track record of client development

  • Team player, comfortable in a matrix environment with multiple stakeholders

  • Attention to detail, efficient and proactive, excellent proofreading skills, and solid numeracy/literacy skills
