How do you keep up-to-date with the issues in your sector?
Communicating with candidates on a regular basis, over the phone, email and through LinkedIn. Also meeting candidates over a coffee is a great way to learn more. I try to get to as many networking events as possible; meeting with clients on a regular basis to find out what they're doing really helps too. 

What's your favourite film and why?
My favourite film would have to be...'Once Upon a Time in the West'. A classic Western film that offers everything.

If you could invent one thing what would it be?
I'd invent a time-machine, or maybe something easier to use like 'Bernard's Watch'. It would be ideal to be able to stop time every now and again to catch up on some sleep or spend some extra time finding that perfect candidate!

What makes you #DistinctlyDifferent? 
I'd like to think that I really get to understand what people are looking for in their next role and deliver to that. This, coupled with keeping regular contact with clients to see what their situation is, allows me to match the right candidate to the right company, as each Medical Communications Agency offers something slightly different. This may sound like ordinary recruitment to some, but you have to act differently and go the extra mile in this sector to make it work for everybody involved!

The Company

The agency we're working with are a full-service Healthcare Communications agency looking for an Account Director to join the ranks, purely due to growth. The agency is a small to medium sized company, independently owned and with offices in West London. They offer a flexible working environment and are happy to accommodate home/reduced/flexible hours where possible and believe that getting the right work/life balance is best for everybody

  • The agency covers strategic education, publications, advocacy development and meetings and congresses
  • Core therapy areas include Dermatology, Gastroenterology, Haematology, Oncology and Neuroscience

The Role

  • Management of specific accounts and associated projects and team, delegated clearly when needed

  • Commercial, clinical, and creative input to client discussion and plans

  • Budget development, management, and reconciliation

  • Timeline development, management, and maintenance

  • Support new business development where needed

  • Build excellent relations with clients, KOLS and direct reports

 

You

  • Experience within Healthcare, Pharma, or events

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Strong financial acumen

  • All round nice person
