Which team and area do you work/specialise in?

I work in the support team at Carrot Pharma where I head up our internal marketing department.

What does your role cover?

I help to produce innovative materials for our specialist recruitment consultants to use to help attract clients and candidates to the company. As a team, we also support the consultants with any help they may need, organise events and networking dos, run campaigns and competitions, send out mailers and newsletters to ensure candidates are receiving our job vacancies as soon as they go live, run our social media channels and produce all the offline marketing collateral we may need.

What are the hot issues in your sector currently?

The world of marketing is always evolving! Currently, video is huge and something I’m keen to implement more of across the company. I also keep an eye on any relevant new social media platforms forming and whether these may be of use to us.

It’s nearly Christmas which means I’m waiting in anticipation to see what the big brands have come up with for their Christmas campaigns (and of course the John Lewis advert!)

Who is your biggest idol / inspiration and why?

Kate Adie – she’s one of the reasons I decided to study journalism at university. I heard a talk she did once and was hugely inspired by the efforts she went to and the danger she put herself in to report on the events of Tiananmen Square in 1989.

What is your greatest fear?

Being chased. I have recurring dreams / nightmares about being chased by dinosaurs. I couldn’t think of anything worse than going to one of those Halloween horror mazes / houses where people jump out and chase you.

How would your friends describe you in three words?

Caring, organised and a bit ‘edgy’

You’re stranded on a desert island – what one thing could you not live without?

Yorkshire Tea! A good cuppa helps to solve a lot.

What’s makes you #DistinctlyDifferent?

We get a lot of positive feedback on our marketing and website, so my aim is to continue this, while growing and developing the brand and marketing offerings. I try to think outside of the box when it comes to generating campaign ideas, while keeping things fun and creative.
