Experienced Writer, International Medical Communications Agency, Choice of locations: Central London/ Buckinghamshire/ Oxfordshire, Up to £35k DoE

The Role

This role will involve developing written materials in line with client requirements, timelines, editorial policies and ABPI code of practise. The deliverables will include medical affairs consultancy and content, publication planning and execution, multichannel medical education and internal training. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Attend conferences / advisory board meetings with Lead / Senior Medical Writer and develop the first draft of the report for review.
  • Coordinate effectively and efficiently with appropriate members of the agency's communications team
  • Ensure line manager and accounts team, where appropriate, are continually updated on project progress
  • Develop an understanding of the various client brand and disease areas
  • Liaise with authors/advisors (including attending face-to-face meetings), with the support of a Lead/ Senior Medical Writer

 

You

To apply for this role as an Experienced Medical Writer, our client was hoping for candidates with the following skills and experiences:

  • Ideally a PhD, or MSc in the life sciences.
  • Over 1 years' experience working as a Medical Writer in a medical communications agency.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interpret and fulfil client briefs in a creative and technically accurate manner
  • Good project management skills
  • Plan, organise and complete multiple tasks and deal with changes in project timings and specifications

I keep up-to-date using groups on LinkedIn and by keeping in regular contact with people currently working in the industry. 

What's your favourite film and why?

I love films, so there's far too many to choose from! If I had to pick one it would probably be the Harry Potter series. 

If you could invent one thing what would it be?

I'd invent a machine that made me a coffee as soon as I woke up - that would make getting out of bed much easier!
