The Role

Senior Editorial Assistant - Medical Communications - Greater Manchester / Cheshire - £Competitive

After several new business wins and an incredibly successful 2018, this is an exciting time to join this south Manchester based medical communications agency as they expand their teams across the business. You could be an experienced Editorial Assistant or a Senior Editorial Assistant with line management experience - either way this role is flexible to meet your ambitions.


The Company

Working across a variety of therapy areas, mainly rare diseases but also Ophthalmology, Gastrointestinal, hepatology, Infectious Diseases - Vaccines, Neurology - pain management, CNS products, CV products, Antimicrobial resistance and Antibiotics

  • Opportunities to work across a number of deliverables including slide kits, training materials, monographs, manuscripts, commercial work, patient leaflets, client strategy workshops, message development, competitor analysis, ad boards, investigator meetings and publications (approx. 20% of the work)

The Role

As the Senior Editorial Assistant, you will have a varied role, but your main responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the writing team to ensure that all written material is of the highest quality at all stages of development

  • Be a key member of the team helping your clients fulfil their marketing and strategic objectives

  • You will copy-edit and style words documents, copy-edit and format slides, create word and PowerPoint templates, prepare documents for the studio, review designs, quality check electronic items and many more

  • Constantly liaising and work in partnership with the wider teams as the main point of contact for the EA function

  • Mentoring more junior team members initially, with the potential to lead the team in the future if this was of interest to you



To be considered for this Senior Editorial Assistant vacancy you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Some experience working within a medical communications agency is essential

  • A couple of years minimum experience working in an Editorial Assistant or Senior Editorial Assistant capacity

  • Some experience of mentoring or line management is beneficial but not essential, but the desire to mentor and play a key role in a supportive and nurturing environment is important

  • Life sciences degree beneficial
