Medical Communications & Medical Education - roles include Medical Writers, Account Managers, Project Coordinators and Editoral Assistants. 

How do you keep up-to-date with the issues in your sector?

Attending events and meeting candidates and clients is a fantastic way of engaging with my sector and really getting to know people, companies and their motivations. This, alongside keeping up-to-date with MedComms Networking and PMLive articles. 

What's your favourite film and why?

I'm not the biggest of movie buffs but one of my favourites is Lars Von Trier's 'Dancer in the Dark'. It stars Bjork and I'm quite a big Bjork fan!

If you could invent one thing what would it be?

I would invent a mode of transport which is, essentially, a large rollercoaster. It would make my commute to work that bit more enjoyable.

I try not to make assumptions on people and get to know everyone on an individual basis.

Publications Manager - Market Research Agency - Cheshire - Up to £35k DOE

 

The Company

Our client are a global consultancy in healthcare, with over 20 years' experience in conducting real world evidence studies. Their work targets treatment patterns, patient and caregiver reported outcomes and healthcare resource use. This research is instrumental in informing clinical development decisions, strategic marketing, and in developing product value in the market.

 

The Role

This Publications Manager role is a new position which has become a focus due to the growth and success in the number of publications being created by the consultancy. The role would support the smooth running of all publications projects across all therapy area teams, giving you the freedom to create and implement a systems process to streamline the management of real world evidence projects

  • Developing and submitting abstracts

  • Liaising with authors to gather information

  • Managing resubmission processes

  • Providing guidance on medical journals

  • Critically reviewing standards and providing feedback to Medical Writers

The Publications Manager role would be fantastic opportunity for a medical writer who is looking to step away from day to day writing and is interested in managing the process within a 'real world evidence' environment

  • Experience within Medical Writing

  • Good PowerPoint, Excel and Words skills

  • An analytical and interrogative thinker

  • A high level of organisation and methodical approach to work

  • Educated to a Masters or PhD level
