How do you keep up-to-date with the issues in your sector?
Communicating with candidates on a regular basis, over the phone, email and through LinkedIn. Also meeting candidates over a coffee is a great way to learn more. I try to get to as many networking events as possible; meeting with clients on a regular basis to find out what they're doing really helps too. 

What's your favourite film and why?
My favourite film would have to be...'Once Upon a Time in the West'. A classic Western film that offers everything.

If you could invent one thing what would it be?
I'd invent a time-machine, or maybe something easier to use like 'Bernard's Watch'. It would be ideal to be able to stop time every now and again to catch up on some sleep or spend some extra time finding that perfect candidate!

What makes you #DistinctlyDifferent? 
I'd like to think that I really get to understand what people are looking for in their next role and deliver to that. This, coupled with keeping regular contact with clients to see what their situation is, allows me to match the right candidate to the right company, as each Medical Communications Agency offers something slightly different. This may sound like ordinary recruitment to some, but you have to act differently and go the extra mile in this sector to make it work for everybody involved!

The Company

The agency we're recruiting for here is an agency we've done tons of work with in the past, placing many a happy person in an exciting new job. This is largely due to the agency offering something a little bit different, working on creative and innovative healthcare projects for several clients - not just Pharma.

If you're currently working in Medical Communications and perhaps looking for a break away from publications, congress, ad boards etc… then this would be perfect. Alternatively, if you're working outside of Medical Communications but have some healthcare experience then we'd be keen to chat.

The Role

  • Being the key point of contact for clients, building further confidence in the service the agency provides

  • Drive depth of business in key accounts

  • Managing the delivery of key projects to an excellent standard

  • Mentor and develop more junior members of the team

  • Direct the account team on strategic account needs and operational requirements



  • Ability to line manage multiple staff and identify any training needs

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Highly motivated/motivational

  • Extremely adept at business development - able to identify opportunities

  • High degree of integrity
