Medical Editor - Independent, Non-profit Research Institute - South Manchester - £Competitive DoE

The Role

This role will involve the following key responsibilities.

  • Editing a wide range of scientific content including publications, abstracts and posters across almost all therapy areas.
  • Accurate referencing, following the AMA Manual of Style.
  • Communicating effectively to provide diplomatic and constructive comments to writers
  • Prioritising workload when faced with competing needs.



To apply for this medical editor role, our client was hoping for candidates with the following skills and experiences.

  • 5 years of editing experience (medical and scientific editing experience preferred)
  • Knowledge of style guides, particularly the AMA Manual of Style
  • Experience editing large documents in Word (i.e., ≥ 150 pages) preferred
  • Experience with EndNote reference management software preferred
  • Familiarity with medical terminology
