Medical device/healthcare sales and marketing.

Which area do you specialise in? 

All field based sales roles from Territory Manager to Head of Sales/Sales Director level, plus Head Office based marketing positions.

How do you keep up-to-date with the issues in your sector?  

The medical device sector is continually evolving as new technologies and break-through products are brought to market, and this makes it vital to stay completely up to date with the latest goings on.  LinkedIn Groups are a great way to find out what’s happening in the medical device world.  I’m also a great believer in simply having as many conversations as possible with candidates and clients – always a good way to keep a finger on the pulse.

What’s your favourite film and why?  

I’ve seen Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels so many times I feel I know the script!  And what a script it is...

If you could invent one thing, what would it be?  

Some sort of device or implant that meant that your children were totally compliant in the morning, and therefore got off to school without the usual daily drama of one kind or another!

What makes you #DistinctlyDifferent?  

I once bought a live chicken at an auction (I thought I was buying a CD player!) and had to walk it back to the train station on a lead.  And sit with it on the train!  At work, I like to think that I take a real and genuine interest in how my candidates are feeling during the recruitment process, which can be a fairly stressful time, and help them every step of the way.

The Company

Surgical device manufacturer which has experienced unprecedented success in the UK market with their range of breakthrough minimally invasive surgery product portfolio. In terms of sales, the company's headline product is now the No.1 in the market due to a combination of clinical efficiency and competitive price.

  • As an Associate, you will receive superbly comprehensive training on the product and of selling into the surgical environment.

  • Learn whilst working alongside an experienced Territory Manager with a view to running your own territory independently within 12 months.

  • The company will guarantee a part of your bonus, achieved by meeting certain basic objectives.


The Role

A superb opportunity to break into surgical theatre sales as an Associate.

  • Products: Minimally invasive surgery devices and instruments for use during laparoscopic procedures.

  • Territory: Scotland (ideally M8 based).

  • Sales environment: Hospitals - Theatre.

  • Customers: Surgeons and associated theatre staff.



  • Keen to break into medical device/surgical sales, you will have thoroughly researched the role.

  • You MUST have 9 months experience of working in a field sales environment, but this does not need to have been within the medical product sector.

  • Graduate, ideally in a life science subject.

  • 9 months of field sales experience.

  • Researched the role of the Medical Device Representative, ideally having shadowed a Rep. in theatre.
