The Role

Solid Tumour Oncology Account Manager-Small Business Unit in a Top 20 Global Pharma Company-North East, Scotland and Northern Ireland-Excellent Salary & Benefits


The Company

Our client is a specialist oncology business unit, which is a part of a much larger global pharma company. They are relatively new to the UK but have grown impressively quickly and have a small, highly specialist team who are all extremely experienced and high performing.


The Role

As an Oncology Account Manager your role will involve:

  • Positioning your product in the best possible way.
  • Demonstrating excellent product, customer and market knowledge.
  • Identifying departmental and key stakeholders in the hospital environment and promoting your product to all key players.
  • Developing and implementing strategic plans to ensure good coverage and a positive increase in sales, fulfilling patient needs.
  • Building advocacy and securing speaker meetings.



To be considered for this role, you will:

  • Have current experience in Oncology (solid tumours). The company will not negotiate on this.
  • Be able to understand and communicate complex clinical data easily and effectively to ensure credibility in front of customers.
  • Have a sound understanding of the UK pharma industry and the NHS so that you are able to build a strong consistent business plan and able to execute this in the field.
  • Be able to have a high level of credibility and ensure appropriate market access.
  • You must have the ABPI.

I keep up-to-date by reading articles posted online and staying in touch with relevant news. 

What's your favourite film and why?

My favourite film...I'm going to have to say Se7en. I know how dark that film is but I think it's brilliantly written with unexpected twists and turns throughout. 

If you could invent one thing what would it be?

I would have to take a page out of Elon Musk's book and would invent a way for people to be transported around, similar to the way they do in the show Futurama. I just think it would make things ten times easier and quicker.
