How do you keep up-to-date with the issues in your sector?
Communicating with candidates on a regular basis, over the phone, email and through LinkedIn. Also meeting candidates over a coffee is a great way to learn more. I try to get to as many networking events as possible; meeting with clients on a regular basis to find out what they're doing really helps too. 

What's your favourite film and why?
My favourite film would have to be...'Once Upon a Time in the West'. A classic Western film that offers everything.

If you could invent one thing what would it be?
I'd invent a time-machine, or maybe something easier to use like 'Bernard's Watch'. It would be ideal to be able to stop time every now and again to catch up on some sleep or spend some extra time finding that perfect candidate!

What makes you #DistinctlyDifferent? 
I'd like to think that I really get to understand what people are looking for in their next role and deliver to that. This, coupled with keeping regular contact with clients to see what their situation is, allows me to match the right candidate to the right company, as each Medical Communications Agency offers something slightly different. This may sound like ordinary recruitment to some, but you have to act differently and go the extra mile in this sector to make it work for everybody involved!

The Role

Client Services Director - Healthcare Communications Agency - Berkshire/North Hampshire - Up to £90K Depending on experience

 

The Company

We've been working closely with this business over the last few years, placing several people with them this year too. The feedback from the people we've introduced has been fantastic, the agency has also mentioned these candidates are working out very well and discussions around promotions are already happening.

The agency is a small to medium sized, independent Medical Communications agency with lovely modern offices. They currently run two business units and they're looking for a Client Services Director to take the lead on one, reporting directly in to the MD.

They don't focus on your typical Medical Communications projects and there is very little in the way of publication planning. They're more focused on meetings/events, video production, internal communications, and insights. Vast array of therapy areas available too including Neuroscience, Rare Diseases, MS, ADHD - patient centric is a big focus for the agency along with working with closely HCP's.

The Role

  • Meeting RFP and revenue targets for own key clients

  • Personally lead key client relationships, gaining in-depth knowledge and sourcing ways to grow the account organically

  • Working within the senior team to ensure the highest possible standard, training and review procedures

  • Identifying potential issues with delivery of programmes, recommending potential solutions

  • Lead new business pitches, develop communication strategies to present to new clients

 

You

  • Excellent record of accomplishment within Healthcare/Medical Communications

  • Demonstration of leadership and mentoring skills

  • Strong written, presentation and communications skills

  • Able to work as part of a flexible Medical Communications agency
