What's your favourite film and why?
I don't really watch films. Does Corrie count??

If you could invent one thing what would it be?
A chocolate-making machine that would be a normal household object to be used daily, like a toaster.

Rare and exciting opportunity on the Senior Management Team of an award winning, ambitious healthcare communications agency on the Hampshire / Surrey border. Key responsibilities include the leadership of a highly talented medical writing team, being a strategic partner to the client, and having a instrumental involvement in the growth of the agency.

The Role

Head of Scientific Services to lead, build and inspire the editorial team, partner with clients, and be a key member of the Senior Management Team, instrumental in the growth and diversification of the agency.

  • Effective communicator - use your in-depth scientific knowledge to understand the client needs and translate the complex scientific data for diverse audiences.
  • Strategic partner to the client providing scientific counsel to support the development of the clients' communication strategies.
  • Win new business by selling in high value programmes of work.
  • Understand the brief and create ideas using your solid scientific knowledge and commercial acumen.
  • Inspirational leader of a high performing team. Build and develop the team, inspiring, coaching and mentoring them to be the best they can be.
  • Manage the structural, financial and logistical needs of the department.



With a successful career in medical communication or medical education, you are looking for an opportunity to flourish in an independent, entrepreneurial agency with personal autonomy for the Scientific Services team.

  • Solid understanding of medical communication practices and offerings and their application to pharmaceutical brands at various stages of the product lifecycle.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, transparent communications style, and the ability to build solid, credible relationships.
  • Energy and ability to engage with and excite any audience about science and medicine.
  • Passion for investigating new opportunities to increase both the scope of the company's offering and the breadth of companies we engage with.
  • Plan and direct the translation of science into engaging content for a variety of media, across multiple channels.
  • Direct a team to deliver the highest quality of outputs in a client focused manner.
