How do you keep up-to-date with the issues in your sector?
I keep up to date with issues in my sector by staying well networked. Our team holds yearly networking events which gives us all a chance to meet with candidate and clients. I also read industry articles and stay well networked on LinkedIn. I think it really helps that I have good relationships with the clients and candidates I work with!
What's your favourite film and why?
My favourite film has to be all the Matrix films! I love all the martial arts scenes and special effects. I've recently watched the Kill Bill films too, so they're also up there with my favourites!
If you could invent one thing what would it be?
I'd invent a machine that makes me unlimited money.
What makes you #DistinctlyDifferent?
What makes me distinctly different is that I make sure I understand the motivations of people moving jobs. Understanding motivations can sometimes open up opportunities people hadn't previously thought of.
Market Research Manager (Client Side), Highly competitive package, Surrey, Market Research Jobs
Our client is a UK affiliate of a Swiss based top 20 pharma company who have received numerous awards for progress in research and development and their working environment. Their diverse healthcare portfolio includes: innovative pharmaceuticals, eye care products, generics, consumer health products, vaccines and diagnostic tools and animal health products.
As a result of business growth, we are looking for an experienced Market Research Manager to join the team's UK offices based in Surrey. You will be responsible for assessing and reporting on products, competitors and the market using data/information from internal and external sources, and developing strategic recommendations for driving business performance. The position will involve a mix of primary and secondary research/analytics. Specific responsibilities will include:
Manage the market assessment & reporting of products, competitors and industry for the UK and Ireland
Identifying opportunities and providing recommendations for new markets and new channels
Lead completion of key internal reports, including Monthly Business Reviews for the UK and Ireland and Market Intelligence Reports
Manage effective implementation of key tools for gathering and disseminating market intelligence
Manage the market intelligence gathering & conducting ad-hoc market research according to the needs of the business
Build effective relationships with external and internal customers to proactively gather and disseminate information.
Lead on ad-hoc analytical and strategic projects as defined by Head of Portfolio
The successful candidate will most likely have the following:
University degree or equivalent in Science, Marketing and Business qualification desirable
Strong market research and competitor intelligence experience from either a client side and/or agency setting
Experience in Pharmaceutical industry, preferably generics
Highly developed project management skills
Able to think both strategically and tactically
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proven analytical skills
