Which team do you work in?
I work in the Market Research and Business Intelligence team.

Which area do you specialise in?

I specialise in senior market research roles, working with a variety of PMR agencies and consultancies. I also work with our pharma company clients, covering market insight/business intelligence positions.

How do you keep up-to-date with the issues in your sector?

With a well established network of clients and candidates, keeping up to date with industry news is usually quite straightforward! Alongside speaking to those directly involved in the industry, I spend time browsing relevant industry websites and reading articles on LinkedIn

What's your favourite film and why?
I would probably say either the Batman Dark Knight trilogy or the Bourne Films. I think Christopher Nolan's a great director and I really like the premise of the Bourne films - I love a good conspiracy theory!

If you could invent one thing what would it be?
Maybe Bernard's Watch...?

What makes you #DistinctlyDifferent?
This is a tough one! I'm going to go for a couple of clichéd statements - my never-say-die attitude and the fact I'm the most organised recruitment consultant you'll meet. I've a folder for everything!

The Role

Our client provides a full range of qualitative and quantitative market research services to support products and strategy throughout the product/drug lifecycle. They pride themselves on listening to their client’s needs and coming up with creative solutions to help them meet their marketing objectives.  The high value consultancy they provide is based on their extensive experience in the pharma industry and cutting edge data tools. With offices in London, the US and the Far East, our client can offer the global reach and resources associated with a large organisation, whilst maintaining the personalised touch that is at the heart of the company’s ethos.

We are currently looking for a Research Director to join the Adhoc team of the company’s European HQ based in South West London.

The Job

The RD will lead an adhoc project team in the delivery of high quality research studies, across both quantitative and qualitative methodologies.  You will provide leadership direction and management expertise in terms of growing and sustaining the business through the development and execution of group strategies, product development and sales growth plans. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Business Development and the devising/implementation of  commercial strategy

  • Supervising and managing the activities, standards of performance and behaviour of junior researchers.

  • Direct projects from the planning stages to completion including analysis, attending client briefings, kick-off meetings and reviewing materials and presentations.
     

The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent and have extensive experience in adhoc healthcare research.


The following are also essential:

  • Strong adhoc qual and/or quant skills

  • Highly developed project management skills

  • Previous line management experience

  • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

  • Ability to persuade, encourage and motivate

  • Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment

  • Ability to write proposals and grow business (both organic and new BD activities)
