Which team do you work in? 

Medical device/healthcare sales and marketing.

Which area do you specialise in? 

All field based sales roles from Territory Manager to Head of Sales/Sales Director level, plus Head Office based marketing positions.

How do you keep up-to-date with the issues in your sector?  

The medical device sector is continually evolving as new technologies and break-through products are brought to market, and this makes it vital to stay completely up to date with the latest goings on.  LinkedIn Groups are a great way to find out what’s happening in the medical device world.  I’m also a great believer in simply having as many conversations as possible with candidates and clients – always a good way to keep a finger on the pulse.

What’s your favourite film and why?  

I’ve seen Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels so many times I feel I know the script!  And what a script it is...

If you could invent one thing, what would it be?  

Some sort of device or implant that meant that your children were totally compliant in the morning, and therefore got off to school without the usual daily drama of one kind or another!

What makes you #DistinctlyDifferent?  

I once bought a live chicken at an auction (I thought I was buying a CD player!) and had to walk it back to the train station on a lead.  And sit with it on the train!  At work, I like to think that I take a real and genuine interest in how my candidates are feeling during the recruitment process, which can be a fairly stressful time, and help them every step of the way.

The Company

Our Client, a Global Pharma and diagnostics Company, has a first class reputation for producing innovative equipment for diabetes. They now have an opportunity to join their successful sales force promoting a premium device across Devon and Cornwall. They have a unique opportunity for a sales professional outside of the Pharma industry to have their first role in Pharma Sales!

 

The Role

  • As a Blood Glucose Specialist, you will be promoting a fantastic brand for diabetes patients.

  • You will work across both Primary and Secondary Care whilst also working closely with Diabetes Nurse Specialists and GPwSIs.

  • The role is approximately 70% primary care and 30% secondary care.

  • The role will require cross functional activity liaising internally with Infusion Specialist Teams, Outcomes Specialists Team and other Internal Departments.

  • You will be tasked to achieve market share targets by effectively implementing business plans in line with marketing strategies.

 

You

  • You will be a tenacious and resilient sales professional that has strong business and commercial acumen.

  • You will be an innovative, outside the box thinker who is sales driven and has experience generating new business leads and closing the sale during a visit, ideally in a field based role.

  • You will be confident in your ability and be able to up sell when required in order to find new business and further enhance your customer offering to increase patient benefits.

  • You may be from an FMCG background or another account manager, sales rep or new business development type role.

  • You will be self-motivated and be able to thrive working in an autonomous environment but also have excellent examples in sharing best practice with your team.
