VP Business Development

The Role

This position is a very senior hire for my client. They are looking for an experienced business developer ideally with research experience.

 

The Company

My client is a behavioural analytics company that enables their clients to grow their businesses through improved marketing strategies. Their primary focus is to provide additional information and insight to why consumers make the decisions that they do. My clients have their own bespoke software which enables them to really bring data to life.

  • International company with a global presence.

  • Offer a suite of analytical tools that enables their clients to see superior outcomes including innovation, segmentation, innovation and brand equity.

  • Strong presence in several sectors including life science, consumer goods, retail, energy and financial services.

 

The Role

  • Deliver an annual sales pipeline of between $1.5- 3 million in revenue from research and consulting services.

  • Serve as an overall lead with regards to managing and maintaining client relationships.

  • Writing proposals

  • Lead junior business developers to successfully achieve their targets and help the team to grow.

 

You

This position is integral to the future growth of the company. They are at the stage where they have some fantastic products that can really help their clients to take their research findings to the next level. Your job is to make the market aware of the benefits of the product and what differentiates it to others out there on the market.

  • Strong and a demonstratable interest in strategy consulting driven by market research.

  • At least five years of experience in client engagement/business development ideally within market research, you will also need to clearly demonstrate your skills and experiences.

  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Experience of working with sales automation tools would be beneficial.

How do you keep up-to-date with the issues in your sector?

I try and keep on top of industry specific news via LinkedIn, newsletters and media in general. I believe you can also gather most of the information that you need from conversations with candidates and clients. 

What is your favourite film and why?

Anchorman - it is one of those films where the more you watch it the funnier it gets. If not then pretty much anything with Denzel Washington in it - he doesn't do bad films!

If you could invent one this what would it be?

A time machine without a doubt! I absolutely hate both myself and other people being late so this would just solve all my issues.

What makes you distinctly different?

I have completed Tough Mudder twice, as well as other endurance events. I feel it is necessary to push yourself both mentally and physically, otherwise you never know what you can do. It hurts all the way around but you cannot beat that feeling the at the finish line!
