The Role

Product Safety Engineer (Medical Devices) - Global Healthcare Company - Yorkshire with some remote working - £ Excellent basic salary, 10% bonus, healthcare, 10% pension, some remote working

The Product Safety Engineer (Medical Devices) will ultimately be responsible for ensuring the product safety engineering requirements are met for the design and development of medical devices, electronic and battery-operated products. This role is based in Yorkshire (with remote working).

My client is a global health and hygiene company covering a range of therapy areas including Cold & Flu, GI, Sexual Wellbeing, Disinfectants and Air Care. Based in Yorkshire, this company have an exciting and broad variety of projects to work on including both new and existing products. They have recently opened brand new offices so you will be based in their new state of the art R&D Centre of Excellence.

The Role

The Product Safety Engineer (Medical Devices) will be responsible for ensuring safety design and development of medical devices, battery operated and electronic devices.

  • Ensure the safety by design of products which are which are manufactured as electrical, battery-operated and medical devices during both development and post-launch.
  • Conduct risk assessments and identify any potential risks or hazards
  • Support innovation of new products
  • Leading safety assessments
  • Reporting on potential future hazards and providing feedback to the wider business

 

You

To apply for this role as a Product Safety Engineer (Medical Devices) our client is hoping for someone with the following skills and experience;

  • Product safety experience ideally within medical devices. This client may also consider people with automotive, aeronautical etc experience
  • Risk management experience, identifying and reporting on current and potential risks/hazards
  • Good knowledge of Safety standards, preferably including IEC 61508; Sector specific knowledge is desirable, including ISO 14971, IEC 62366, ISO 10993
